One person was killed and more than a dozen were injured after a car slammed into a group of pedestrians at a train station in Jerusalem on Wednesday.

FOX News reported that the Israeli police have said what took place is believed to be a terror attack.

Authorities said that a Palestinian driver, identified as Ibrahim al-Akri, hit several cars and pedestrians near the platform before exiting his vehicle and attempting to attack bystanders with an iron bar.

Micky Rosenfeld, spokesman for Israeli police, said that officers then fatally shot al-Akri at the scene.

Rosenfeld also confirmed the death of one Israeli man and said that the injured parties were transported to local hospitals to receive treatment.

This latest attack is eerily similar and comes on the heels of another attack in Jerusalem just two weeks ago. In that incident a driver also drove his car into a crowd of pedestrians near the train station and killed three people, including one child.
