Wonder Woman may soon have a director. Michelle MacLaren is in talks to direct the Gal Gadot-led superhero film.
Variety’s sources said that MacLaren was working on a deal, although Warner Bros. haven’t made any official statements yet. However, Warner Bros. President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production Greg Silverman reportedly said that he’s a fan of MacLaren’s work, so hopes are high.
As Entertainment Weekly pointed out, MacLaren has more than made her mark in the TV world. She’s directed episodes of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead in the past.
MacLaren isn’t the only director that Warner Bros. has approached, though. The Hollywood Reporter noted that the studio has met with Jennifer Kent and Lesli Linka Glatter.
The plot of Wonder Woman is unknown, apart from its implied connection to the upcoming Justice League film. Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara revealed Wonder Woman and a slew of other DC films last month, including films for The Flash, Aquaman and Green Lantern.
Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman can first be seen in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Wonder Woman will be released on June 23, 2017.
