Jon Stewart jokes Steve Carell's performance in 'Foxcatcher' makes Al Pacino want to quit acting (Video)

Jon Stewart praised Daily Show alum Steve Carell’s performance in Foxcatcher during Wednesday’s show, predicting he will win an Oscar.

Stewart was so taken back by Carell’s acting abilities in the film, joking that he never knew he had so much talent.

"You were here for years, and I never thought you were talented. Why didn't you say anything!?" he joked, The Hollywood Reporter notes. Carell was on the show from 1995-2005, when he left to portray Michael Scott in The Office

“It's a brilliant movie. It's a wonderful movie. The performance are incredible — you're not in it. I know you. You're not in this movie,” he praised him about his believable performance.

Stewart even joked he saw the film with Al Pacino, who told him he would be quitting acting after seeing Carell’s performance. "I don't know who that guy is, but I'm quitting, because that guy is so act-y,” he joked Pacino told him.

In the film, also starring Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo, Carell plays an heir to the du Pont fortune, John du Pont, who’s schizophrenic. It premiered in May at the Cannes Film Festival but check out our review from the Savannah Film Festival last month.
