ABC has scheduled the premieres for two of its most anticipated shows, both of which were held back for this midseason. The network also set the finale date for How To Get Away With Murder.
Up first is Secrets and Lies, which will star Ryan Phillippe. The series centers on a father (Phillippe) who is in the middle of a murder investigation after he finds the body of a young boy. Juliette Lewis will star as a police detective investigation.
It is based on an Australian series and is executive produced by Barbie Kligman, Aaron Kaplan, Nathan Mayfield and Tracey Robertson. Kligman, a Private Practice alum, developed the series.
Secrets and Lies will debut on Sunday, March 1 at 9 p.m. with a two-hour episode.
American Crime is possibly the most interesting new show of the season for ABC and comes from 12 Years A Slave writer John Ridley. ABC is so excited to work with the Oscar winner that they signed him to an overall deal in July. ABC chief Paul Lee said in May that they hope the series reflects the “changing face of America.”
The series will debut on Thursday, MArch 5 at 10 p.m. and stars Timothy Hutton and Felicity Huffman.
How To Get Away With Murder will end its freshman run on Feb. 26 to make room for American Crime.
ABC’s other midseason shows include Marvel’s Agent Carter and Galavant.
