Quentin Tarantino shed a few tears during 'Godzilla'

The director of Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Basterds cried when he saw Godzilla in theaters; thanks to a shortly lived performance by French actress Juliette Benoche.

In Godzilla Benoche plays a nuclear power plant consultant and wife to a nuclear power plant engineer played by Bryan Cranston. When something goes horribly wrong while investigating the inside of a power plant as a result of seismic activity, Benoche meets a tragic fate.

In an interview with Indiewire, Benoche confessed that Quentin Tarantino told her how her performance affected him.

"That was the first time I've ever cried during a 3D blockbuster. I had to take off my glasses to wipe away my tears," Tarantino said according to Benoche.

Benoche was able to make Tarantino cry with only a few minutes of screen time.

Although Godzilla was a massive success earning $524 million worldwide, many reviewers critiqued the fact that some of the best actors in the film were killed off too early.

Tarantino's next movie The Hateful Eight will begin filming this December in Colorado.
