Warner Bros. might be developing a 'Legion of Super-Heroes' film

With Guardians of the Galaxy being a smash hit at the box office this summer, DC has to step up their game if they want to compete, and they may have a trick up their sleeve to do just that.

According to a rumor from Latino Review, Warner Bros. is in the early stages of developing a Legion of Super-Heroes film, sending the comic book out to screenwriters and looking for pitches about a possible movie.

Legion of Super-Heroes has undergone many, many reboots over the years, but in basic terms, the series is considered the closest thing DC has to Guardians of the Galaxy.

The comic series began in 1958 and was initially associated with Superman, so with the upcoming Batman v. Superman film, it makes sense how DC might be able to tie Legion into the franchise.

According to Slashfilm, one possibility for a story involves Darkseid, a major villain from the Great Darkness Saga storyline, who has been rumored to play some part in the upcoming DC films.

There has been no confirmation that DC is working on Legion of Superheroes, but with nine upcoming films announced, and with the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, it would definitely make sense as the studio's next move.
