Coming off of the huge success of his most recent movie, Captain Phillips, there's been a lot of anticipation over what director Paul Greengrass' next project might be. Now, we're getting word that he might be joining Leonardo DiCaprio's and Jonah Hill's next project.
According to Deadline, Paul Greengrass is in talks to direct The Ballad Of Richard Jewell. This would be a logical choice, as the film will also be written by Billy Ray, who previously wrote Paul Greengrass' Captain Phillips.
As we previously reported, The Ballad of Richard Jewell will tell the story of the security guard who found a suspicious backpack at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics and was able to save lives before it went off. He was at first considered a hero, but later the media tore him apart when the FBI suspected him of planting the bomb himself.
The film will be based on Marie Brenner’s 1997 article in Vanity Fair, "American Nightmare: The Ballad of Richard Jewell." Richard Jewell will be played by Jonah Hill, with Leonardo DiCaprio starring as Jewell's attorney.
Hill and DiCaprio previously worked together in The Wolf of Wall Street last year, with both actors being nominated for Oscars.
