John Williams’ music doesn’t need lyrics, but Jeff Goldblum, one of the stars of Jurassic Park, figured he had the right to try. The always awesome actor showed off his lyrics for the iconic Williams theme for the Steven Spielberg classic last night on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Meyers told Goldblum that he is known for several great roles in other films, but the former Saturday Night Live cast member was very excited that Goldblum had his new set of lyrics.
“In Jurassic Park, scary in the dark, I’m so scared that I’ll be eaten,” Goldblum sang as Meyers’ house band performed the Williams theme. He even lead the audience as they sang the words again.
“All things being equal, I think it was probably right to not have the lyrics in the original film,” Meyers said. “I think it was better with no lyrics.”
“Really?” Goldblum asked. “I think it was a big mistake. I like the lyrics.”
Although Goldblum isn’t taking part in Jurassic World (as far as we know), the actor still embraces his part in popular culture by starring in the beloved film and its sequel, The Lost World. He even did a T. rex wedding picture at a friends’ wedding last month.
The actor was last seen on the big screen in The Grand Budapest Hotel and will be seen in Mortdecai with Johnny Depp.
