9. The Shawshank Redemption
The Shawshank Redemption is a film adapted from the Stephen King novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption. The film tells the story of Andy Dufresne, a banker who is sentenced to prison for the murder of his wife and her lover, despite his claims of innocence. We follow his struggles with prison life, and the happiness he gets from bonding with other inmates, such as 'Red' (Morgan Freeman) and hope things will work out for him.
