9. Buffy
Sci-fi has found a lot of success with television shows because this medium allows storylines to develop as well as characters. Buffy the Vampire Slayer started back in 1997 and went until 2003. The show followed Sarah Michelle Gellar and her friends while she had to battle demons and attend high school. The show had a large following and even produced the spin-off series Angel. Gellar helped the movement of women being well represented in the sci-fi genre with her role on this popular series.
