10. Wade and Alanis Morissette
“Ironic” singer Alanis Morissette isn’t the only one in the family who has a passion for music. Morissette’s twin brother, Wade, is also a musician. However, instead of the popular music Morissette tends to gravitate towards, Wade’s focus is on kirtan music, which is similar to a call-and-response chant.
In Us Weekly’s 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me: Alanis Morissette, the “Head Over Feet” singer admitted she is a huge fan of her brother’s unique style of music.
While their musical styles are incredibly different, the twins shared the stage in 2009, with Morissette and her band joining Wade for a collaboration of “Jai Hanumana.”
“For me, it was an incredible way to sit with Wade, both of us empowered and sharing gifts as a team that he and I have had and used since we were kids,” Alanis told LA Yoga Magazine. “To be with someone, just to share the stage like that, it’s ultimately not to be a background singer, but to be of service. With my brother, come on, that’s the best. Both of us sitting on stage sharing and loving what we do was really beautiful.”
