The Shipper’s Manifesto outlines how Draco’s perception of Hermione changes throughout the books while she is not as hard on him as Harry or Ron, stating that “the books provide a basis for a relationship between Draco and Hermione.”
When trying to explain this couple, fans give many answers. On Fire and Ice, a fanfiction writer pointed out all of the clues after giving the ultimate reason why these two characters work together: “The pair has all the elements of an exciting romance. . .[it] is against all odds. There is opposition from just about everyone and everywhere, even from themselves … which makes it very riveting and entrancing.”
