Doctor Who is a British television show that began in 1963 and was revamped in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston portraying the Ninth Doctor. Rose Tyler was his new companion, or the girl who journeyed through space and time with him.
Fans often pair the Doctor with his companion although there is not always a romantic connection. However, the witty dialogue and tension hiding care for the other person cause Rose and the Ninth Doctor to be one of the favorite pairings. Not only do they squabble while fighting off villains, they also help each other overcome loneliness and pain. According to Christopher Eccleston’s fan website, “The Ninth Doctor’s relationship with Rose verged on the romantic, with both of them clearly showing that they cared about each other deeply, although both always denied that they were a couple.”
Unfortunately for fans, the Ninth Doctor regenerates into the Tenth Doctor before their relationship can fully grow. However, his last words to Rose left audiences even more in favor of the couple. According to the Tardis Wika, he says farewell: “Rose, before you go, I just want to tell you, you were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. And you know what? So was I!”
