Few people will tell you “Hey, be a comedian”. The field is difficult to break into, and even harder to make a living off of. But it’s important to do what you love, no matter what. Which was exactly what Williams did. You can take nearly any of Williams’s roles and search for the risk that was taken. In Mrs. Doubtfire he dresses as a woman to see his children, knowing full well the possible repercussions of such an act. In Patch Adams he continues practicing medicine after the death of his girlfriend and growing feelings of unease, and in The World According to Garp most notably as nearly his whole life is a series of risk takings. However, no matter the situation, there is always something worth taking a risk for. You can never gain of move ahead in life without taking a risk. Sometimes you have to miss a baseball game to have a drink in a bar with a stranger to see where it can lead.
