Remember Hanna’s shower scene at the Lost Woods motel in season 2, episode 25? Well, it’s not a coincidence. The Pretty Little Liars writers found inspiration in the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock flick, Psycho, where Janet Leigh’s character meets her unfortunate demise. And while Hanna makes out a bit better than Marion Crane, she definitely senses something is up. Hitchcock’s influence is largely palpable throughout the course of the series thus far as the PLL writers have also paid homage to Vertigo, Rear Window, North by Northwest, and The Birds in other episodes.
