The film Laura is also set around a mystery and follows a detective who is trying to piece together a woman’s murder only to learn she’s really alive. The film’s influence is most clearly felt in season 4, episode 19 of PLL. Shot in black and white, the episode pays tribute to American film noir and the characters struggle to obtain answers about what really happened the night Ali disappeared.
