7. Tywin Lannister
What is there to say about Tywin Lannister, the father of Cersei, Jaime and Tyrion? He easily remains as one of the most hated men on the show due to his behavior and attitude towards his enemies and own family.
Tywin has consistently believed that family reigns over all and in earlier seasons, he would protect all members of his family at any cost. Yet as time went on during the show, viewers learned that Tywin is more concerned of keeping the image of a perfectly well bred family with the right connections than anything else.
Easily one of the more hated characters, Tywin cared purely for his family and no one else, except Tyrion. His relationship with Tyrion has always caused problems as he blamed Tyrion’s existence for the reason his wife died during childbirth – that he was a monster. In season 4 Tyrion is put on trial for the murder of Joffrey and Tywin refuses to help his son but hopes that he perishes. In addition, Tywin forced Tyrion to get rid of his lover Shae, an act that infuriated Tyrion. The true icing on the cake was when Cersei went to her father and told him that all the rumors were true, that their family truly does not belong on the throne, as Joffrey and Tommen are not really Baratheons. These two boys are products of Cersei and Jaime, the twin brother and sister making them a lie and illegible. And then Tywin Lannister refuses to believe it.
All of these occurrences led up to his death, as it was Tyrion, in a state of fury, who shot his father in the chest twice while he was sitting on the toilet. Tyrion had gone to his father’s corridors to speak with him where he found his ex-lover, Shae, lying in his bed. He then found his father in the bathroom where he shot him once after insulting Shae and then telling him, “You are not my son.”
In response Tyrion looks at his father and says cooly, “I am your son. I have always been your son” and with one final shot, Tywin Lannister was dead. Tywin gets #7 due to how he was murdered by his own son and with that the son that he tortured for all of his life. Plus dying on the toilet is just an awkward way to go but nonetheless fans were happy as one more evil conqueror was destroyed and now Tywin can no longer rule or ruin any other lives.
