According to the Schaffer Library of Drug Policy, chapter 8 describes Hefner’s journey to discovering true love making with the use of marijuana. In the chapter, Hefner, who slept with numerous women, learned how much he had been missing when he combined lovemaking with marijuana. This is what he had to say: “Smoking helped put me in touch with the realm of the senses. I discovered a whole other dimension to sex. I discovered the difference between fucking and making love."
Hefner is one of the biggest supporters for same-sex marriage. According to Daily News, Hefner said, gay marriage is "a fight for all our rights. Without it, we will turn back the sexual revolution and return to an earlier, puritanical time."
