5. X-Men: Days of Future Past
Undoubtedly not only one of the most satisfying X-Men movies in years, but the best big-budget blockbuster of the summer thus far, director Bryan Singer’s return to the franchise he left years ago is a return to form for not just him, but for X-Men altogether.
The movie constantly surprises its audience by not just how it is able to make the impossible task of combining two separate X-Men universes work. Through a great sense of humor, a fantastic sense of pacing, strong performances and some dynamic set pieces, this also stands as one of the best big-budget tent-pole films to come out in some time.
