1. The Lego Movie
As wonderful as Ernest & Celestine was, this new movie from Phil Lord and Chris Miller is undoubtedly not just one of the funniest, quickest and lovable movies of the year, it also packs itself with more food-for-thought than this type of movie ever, ever should.
There is so much to recommend about this movie, down to the voice acting, its incredible animation, lightning fast writing and heartfelt direction, but this is simply one of those movies that just needs to be seen to be believed. It’s probably going to end up one of the movies this year that makes its biggest impact upon re-viewings, and that’s certainly fine.
