Authorities said a woman in Georgia was charged with child endangerment after she allegedly drove a vehicle with seven children inside while intoxicated.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Krystal Tierra Griffis, was pulled over on May 24 after she was spotted driving eractically.
Upon approaching the car the officer said he “could smell a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle and an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Ms. Griffis’ breath as she spoke.”
Police said the 30-year-old woman had a male companion, Darius Edwards, in the front-passenger seat and seven children ranging from 10 months to 12 years of age in the backseat.
The paper also reported that the children were covered in bits of marijuana, which officials believe was a result of the adults trying to throw a bag out the window.
Griffis faces several charges including DUI, marijuana possession and seven counts of child endangerment.
She spoke to FOX 5 News and denied what authorities have alleged.
