Will Ferrell, Zach Galifiankis will reunite for Richard Linklater's 'Larry's Kidney'

The Campaign co-stars Zach Galifiankis and Will Ferrell appear to enjoy their company together, as the two have recently signed on to reunite in Richard Linklater's upcoming project Larry's Kidney.

The Wrap reveals that the film will be an adaptation of the memoir of the same name by Daniel Asa Rose, which will "balance comedy with life-and-death stakes."

To know the plot of the upcoming film, one only has to look at the book's mouthful of a subtitle: Being the True Story of How I Found Myself in China with My Black Sheep Cousin and His Mail-Order Bride, Skirting the Law to Get Him a Transplant–and Save His Life. Ferrell will be play Rose, while Galifiankis will be playing his sick cousin.

Buyers are apparently interested in the film because of its China backdrop, as the Chinese audience has been expanding rapidly in the past few years.

Production on the film was supposed to begin sometime this spring, so it is unclear at the moment when it will begin production. Additionally, a release date has not been announced at this time.

Ferrell was last seen in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and the mini-series The Spoils of Babylon. He was also recently heard in The Lego Movie. He'll next be seen in Welcome to Me later this year and is currently filming Get Hard with Kevin Hart, both of which he produces.

Galifiankis was last seen in Muppets Most Wanted and will soon be seen in Birdman on October 17. Meanwhile, Linklater's latest film, Boyhood will begin hitting theaters on July 11.
