5. George W. Bush makes a cameo
In season one of Game of Thrones, the severed head of George W Bush appeared on a spike at Kings Landing. NY Daily News said that in the DVD commentary of season one, a writer admits that the head had a likeness to George W. Bush.
Without explaining where the prop came from, the writer claimed, “We just had to use whatever head we had around.”
Due to political uproar, HBO released an apology statement, according to NY Daily News.
"We were deeply dismayed to see this and find it unacceptable, disrespectful and in very bad taste," the cable channel said.
"We made this clear to the executive producers of the series who apologized immediately for this inadvertent careless mistake. We are sorry this happened and will have it removed from any future DVD production.”
