'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' wins top honor at MTV Movie Awards

The MTV Movie Awards took place on Sunday night in Los Angeles, hosted by Conan O’Brien. Hunger Games: Catching Fire received the top honor of the night – movie of the year.

Other highlights of the night came from the cast of the Hunger Games series, with Jennifer Lawrence winning best female performance and Josh Hutcherson taking home the award for best male performer.

Mark Wahlberg took home the MTV Generation Award while 21 Jump Street star Channing Tatum got the trailblazer award, CBS News reports.

When Zac Efron accepted his award for Best Shirtless Performance, Rita Ora ripped open his shirt. As she scurried away, he took the shirt completely off and flexed for his fans.
Us Weekly reports Efron beat out Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Aniston, Sam Clafin and Chris Hemsworth for the honor.

Clips from upcoming films The Fault in Our Stars, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and X Men: Days of Future’s Past were also shown during the event, which aired live from the Nokia Theatre.
