A new clip from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has been released, highlighting Chris Pratt, who plays Star Lord in the film.
The clip was released by MTV, ahead of Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards, which will kick off the summer blockbuster season. The clip aired during the MTV Movie Awards Takeover special during a look at Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The scene feels inspired by the first scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark except in space. Star Lord picks up an orb, but Korath (Djimon Hounsou) and his squad aren’t happy about that. Star Lord pulls off a fantastic escape after it’s clear that they intend to arrest him.
Marvel released the full trailer for Guardians back in February and the new clip ends with some footage seen in that trailer. There’s even “Hooked On A Feeling,” which has become the film’s theme song in promotional material.

Guardians, directed by James Gunn, opens on Aug. 1. In addition to Pratt, the cast includes Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, John C. Reilly and the voices of Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.
