3. Worst Actor in a Leading Role
Winner: Adam Sandler, Grown Ups 2
I didn’t hate Grown Ups 2. I thought it was just another regular, funny kiddy movie. However, I did hate Adam Sandler’s Lenny. Shouldn’t the lead character be at least a little likeable? He is a tool. It may be because a deer pees on him at the beginning of the film.
Grown Ups 2 follows Lenny (Sandler), Eric (Kevin James), Kurt (Chris Rock) and Marcus (David Spade) and their wives on another adventure. The plot is absolute nonsense and I’m not even going to try to explain all of the crew’s shenanigans. But, the main story line follows the relationship between Lenny and his wife, Roxanne (Salma Hayek). Roxanne wants a baby and Lenny doesn’t. Cue the Sandler jerk.
The character of Lenny wasn’t a character that I was supposed to hate. Sandler made him that way.
