Cameron’s speech for winning Best Director for Titanic in 1997 wasn’t too bad. He seemed happy, thankful, and generally pleasant. Until we got to the end of his speech, in which he quotes his film by saying “I’m king of the world!" The only problem was, he seemed to really mean it. It was a cringe-worthy moment, where he seemed a little too egotistical with his victory. While he did ask for a moment of silence to honor the victims of the real Titanic, his excited quoting of the movie kind of killed the reverence.
