Katharine Hepburn was a unique beauty. Unlike most of the other women on this list, she didn’t dress in frilly dresses and didn’t worry about looking good. Hepburn dressed for comfort. She made women wearing men’s clothing look good. She was the most stylish tomboy in history. Hepburn was often seen in pants and loafers, which was completely different than the silhouette dresses that the other women were dressing in.
During her 60-year career in Hollywood, Hepburn was involved in television, stage and film. She has received four Academy Awards for Best Actress and one Emmy. She also received two Tony Award nominations. She won the Screen Actors Guild’s highest honor, Lifetime Achievement Award, in 1979.
