Rabo Karabekian is 71-year-old who wants nothing more to be left alone with his old age—and his potato barn full of secrets. A young widow comes into the picture and begs to learn of Rabo’s life story as Vonnegut tells the reader of a man’s recklessness in trying to build or ruin what he loves most.
