At number 8 comes 1987’s The Witches of Eastwick. Stars aside from Jack Nicholson include Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer. The film depicts three women in Eastwick, Rhode Island, each with their own circumstances and gifted with certain powers. After creating the perfect man, played by Nicholson, who uproots the lives they know.

Coming in at number 7 is 1980’s The Shining. The film is based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name. However, the film is so different from the novel that Stephen King has publicly denounced the film. Film scholars however agree that the movie is an important and influential work nonetheless. Nicholson stars as Jack Torrance, a recovering alcoholic who becomes possessed by supernatural presences within a hotel.
