2. Embellished fabrics
Since there was so little in terms of statement jewels, many of the stars let their dresses speak for themselves and had embellishments on the dresses rather than on their bodies. Anne Hathaway wore a studded form-fitting gown that went well with her short hairdo. Cate Blanchett wore an embellished gold gown, which went perfectly with her golden hair and skin. Naomi Watt’s white gown had embellishment but was slightly hard to see due to its white on white look.
1. Sparkling nude
Going along with the fact that there was a high amount of neutral colored dresses this year, sparkling neutrals were present all over the red carpet. From Best Actress Winner Cate Blanchett’s sparkling nude dress to Kelly Osborne’s bedazzled nude capelette to Giuliana Rancic’s gorgeous shimmery nude tulle gown, the overall look was a success.
