4. "Part of Your World"
Yet again the famous Disney duo, composer, Alan Menken and songwriter, Howard Ashman, were able to create another memorable soundtrack for the 1989 Disney film, The Little Mermaid. The highlight of the soundtrack is the thematic song, “Part of Your World” that Jodi Benson (who voices Ariel,the little mermaid) beautifully sings. The song is Ariel’s longing to be apart of the human world and to ditch her fish fins and join the humans ‘up where they walk.’ The song’s tune is repeated throughout the movie as well. Every little girl who has ever wanted to be a mermaid has been sure to have sung this song once in her life before, all thanks to this Disney film.
