1. George O’Malley
George O’Malley was played by actor T. R. Knight, and was one of the most shocking deaths of the series. He started off at the hospital with a bad start, but eventually became one of the best for his great interest in trauma. Izzie Stevens was his best friend and he was married to Callie Torres for a while. In the finale of season 5, he jumped in front of a bus to save a woman’s life and died in surgery shortly after. He always received positive reviews for his performance on the show, but decided to leave the show because of lack of screen time and his decision to come out as openly gay. He was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series at the 59th Emmy Awards and his death received very mixed feedback. Since the show, he has been a character on hit series The Good Wife.
