2. Mark Sloan
Mark Sloan was played by actor Eric Dane and was originally known on the show for being a man-whore. He was the head of Plastic Surgery at the hospital. He and Lexie Grey had an on and off relationship, but he was always very much in love with her. The two of them passed away together in a plane crash. She died not long after the crash, and he was rescued but spent two months trying to recover before he fell into a coma. His life support was removed after 30 days in the coma and he passed away. He received the nickname “McSteamy” from the female interns at the hospital for his good looks and became a huge hit among fans. He was a character from season 3 until season 9, and has also been an actor in movies like Valentine’s Day and Marley & Me.
