9. American Dad
It might be inconsistent, but American Dad reaches toward a rarely-seen level of greatness, particularly in its most high-concept episodes. Stan and Roger hold down the series, but the entire cast have strong personalities, when it's easy for many cartoons to anchor a show around a few wacky characters surrounded by bland ones.
