Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is reportedly launching Rogue TV, her own digital video channel that will be only available through a service called Tapp.
Rogue TV could launch as early as next month, reports Captial New York, which first reported the news. It is expected to be one of Tapp’s first channels.
Tapp was founded by former CNN chief Jon Klein and former NBC Universal entertainment executive Jeff Gaspin and will cost subscribers $10 a month. According to MediaBistro, Gaspin told Bloomberg TV that most of Tapp’s channels will be centered on popular personalities and Palin is certainly one of those. They hope to offer viewers more of a personality than regular TV can deliver.
“I will tell you that Sarah Palin is the kind of personality who has a massive social presence, and a core group of followers and supporters who hang on to her every word,” Klein added. “That is exactly the characteristic that these channels are looking for.”
A source told Capital New York that Palin’s channel would be similar to a video version of her Facebook page. Palin currently has 4 million Facebook followers.
The New York Post did report earlier this month that Palin was being pursued, but Capital New York suggests that it is a done deal. Production has even started on some of the programs.
Rogue will reportedly also feature footage of Palin in Alaska, similar to her short-lived Sara Palin’s Alaska TLC series.
