'Rio 2' soundtrack to feature Bruno Mars and Janelle Monae

The sequel to the popular animated film Rio is about to hit theaters and yesterday it was announced who would be featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming film. Bruno Mars and Janelle Monae will be lending their musical talents to the soundtrack.

Billboard reported that the announcement follows the release of "What is Love" which is the lead off single off of Rio 2 by Monae.

Along with being featured on the soundtrack Monae is also a character in the film. She will be playing a veterinarian.

Fresh off of his halftime Superbowl performance and tour announcement, Mars found time to record "Welcome Back" for the soundtrack and to voice Roberto in the film. Roberto is a childhood friend of main character Jewel, who will will be voiced by Oscar winner, Anne Hathaway.

The soundtrack will also feature Hathaway, Ester Dean, B.o.B. and Kristen Chenoweth, Digital Spy reported.

Rio 2 will be released in theaters nation wide on April 11th.
