The nuclear power plant competes in a softball league, and Mr. Burns recruits the professional baseball players as "ringers" to win a million-dollar bet against rival city Shelbyville's nuclear power plant owner. This is to the chagrin of Homer and his co-workers. The end credits feature Terry Cashman singing "Talkin' Softball", a parody of his song "Talkin' Baseball."
