1. Homer Goes to College Season 5 Episode 3
This episode is ranked number one for its hilarity throughout the episode and memorable classic moments. Mr. Burns is no longer able to hide Homer's lack of a college degree, which is required for his job as safety inspector at the plant. Mr. Burns gets Homer into Springfield University where he takes a nuclear physics course. Before starting college, Homer sees a film that parodies Animal House and believes the movie is an accurate representation of college life and the dean, who is actually very friendly at Springfield University.
Homer gets tutored by nerds who make Monty Python and the Holy Grail references. Instead of studying, he tries to drag them into what he believes is college life. Laughs are constant throughout this episode, and there are many cultural references to go along with classic Homer stupidity. In honor of this being the top episode, here are two clips from it.
