This particular doughnut is one that has a creamy caramel filling. Dulce de leche, which originated south of the border, started off as a caramel flavored treat but inspired Krispy Kreme to turn it into a doughnut. It’s coated in sugar, making it crunchy on the outside, and then stuffed with a thick, creamy dulce de leche filling.
