This 2007 comedy was the first movie Hill starred in, alongside Michael Cera. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg began writing this film when they were just thirteen years old and finished by the time they were fifteen. In this movie, Hill plays Seth and Cera plays Evan. The two are best friends about to graduate high school, but are embarrassed by their virginity and poor social standing, and want to make the best of their remaining time together since they will be going to different colleges. The journey of the two attempting to get the alcohol for the popular girl, Jules’, party is a hysterical one, featuring two police officers played by Seth Rogen and Bill Hader.
1. The Wolf of Wall Street
This 2013 black comedy film, which was directed by Martin Scorsese, stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Matthew McConaughey. The film is based on a true story about Jordan Belfort, played by DiCaprio, and his rise to a wealthy stockbroker who lives the high life and eventually gets involved with crime, corruption and the federal government. Hill plays the role of Donnie Azoff, who is a salesman that decides to go into business with Belfort. It was Hill’s longtime dream to work with Scorsese and this film was a huge hit and is nominated for five Academy Awards. Hill is up for best supporting actor for the second time in his career.
