Rumors have long since circulated that a sequel to the 1988 film
Tim Burton is currently working on post-production for his film
Original writer Seth Grahame-Smith has been working on the script since at least 2012. As far as getting Burton, Keaton had this to say: "Now it looks like he is involved, and without giving too much away we've talked to each other, and e-mailed each other, and if he's in, it's going to be hard not to be in."
In November, 2013, Winona Ryder, who played Lydia Deetz in the original hinted that she was working on a sequel. "I'm kind of sworn to secrecy," she said to Rolling Stone, "But it sounds like it might be happening."
It is also said that the movie will not be a remake, but a sequel. Ryder is particularly looking forward to playing an older Lydia. "It's 27 years later," Ryder said. "And I have to say, I love Lydia so much. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later."
Fans are elated, since the official specultions broke Last year, as the original film had a large cult following.
