Former Doctor Who companion Karen Gillan will play the lead role in the ABC comedy pilot Selfie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Selfie is an updated spin on My Fair Lady, itself a musical based on the play Pygmalion. The show will tell the story of the narcissistic Eliza Dooley (Gillan), who becomes an infamous internet sensation after a video of her disastrous breakup goes viral. To help her rebuild her image, Dooley enlists the help of a marketing expert at her company.

The pilot for the show will be written and executive produced by Suburgatory’s Emily Kapnek.

Selfie marks Gillan’s return to TV after her stint as Amy Pond on Doctor Who ended in the show’s seventh season. HitFix reports that Gillan’s also recently appeared in Adult Swim’s NTSF:SD:SUV.

Gillan will appear later this year in , where she plays the blue-skinned alien Nebula, according to Entertainment Weekly. The teaser trailer for that movie was released on The Tonight Show on Monday night.
