A BBC journalist tweeted a photo of a strange sight at a Sochi Winter Olympics center’s bathroom: two toilets side by side, with no divider. The image has gone viral.

The BBC’s Steve Rosenberg tweeted, “Seeing double in the Gentlemen's Loo at the Olympic Biathlon Centre.” The two toilets are only separated by a trash can and the toilet paper dispenser was on the wall, far from both toilets. Rosenberg then wrote about the oddity, noting that it was found in the brand-new Laura Cross Country Skiing and Biathlon Centre, built specifically for the Games.

Thousands took to Twitter to mock the image, with one anti-Kremlin activist writing, “This is what $50bn gets you!” However, the Associated Press notes that the Russian media explained that this is a common site at Russian soccer stadiums.

“Why are the BBC folks scaring us?” Vasily Konov of R-Sport tweeted. “This is what the gents look like at football stadiums in Russia.” He included an image of another bathroom with urinals and toilets without any dividers.

Others joked that the Rosenberg’s picture was like the relationship between President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Another person joked that it was an extra toilet for a security guard, making a comment on the strict security for the Games.

The Olympics start on Feb. 7.
