6. Poems, Prayers and Promises (by John Denver)
This song touches a special place in my heart, because I was a big John Denver fan and attended several of his concerts. This is the title song of Denver’s 1971 “breakout” album, and a beautiful reflective and anticipatory song. Although the Everly Brothers originally recorded their cover of the song in 1971, it was not released until their Home Again album in 1985.
