Nominees announced for Directors Guild of America Awards
The Directors Guild of America announced its nominees for feature film awards. The winners will be announced at the 66th annual DGA Awards ceremony, taking place Jan. 25 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, according to the DGA.
Nominees this year include Alfonso Cuaron for Gravity, Paul Greengrass for Captain Phillips, Steve McQueen for 12 Years a Slave, David O. Russell for Captain Phillips, and Martin Scorsese for The Wolf of Wall Street.
Jane Lynch is set to host. DGA President Paris Barclay told Entertainment Weekly, “We are thrilled to welcome Jane Lynch as host of the DGA Awards for the very first time…I look forward to her helping us honor the year’s best in film and television.”
This is Scorsese’s 11th DGA Award nomination. He won the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film in 2006 for The Departed, and has also been nominated in that category for Taxi Driver (1976), Raging Bull (1980), Goodfellas (1990), The Age of Innocence(1993), Gangs of New York (2002), The Aviator (2004) and Hugo (2011).
