Amy Poehler producing ‘Broad City’ for Comedy Central

Seasoned comedienne Amy Poehler will be producing a new series for Comedy Central, called Broad City. Broad City has been picked up for 10 episodes and is the latest venture for the Saturday Night Live veteran.

Poehler recently shared responsibilities with Louis C.K in directing a Broad City episode. The team didn’t stop laughing and smiling according to the Daily Mail. The show stars Abbi Jacboson and Ilana Glazer as struggling young people. Jacobson and Glazer are formerly members of the Upright Citizens Brigade.

Poehler told reporters at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour, “I knew Abbi and Ilana's work at UCB and they asked me to do one of their web episodes ... I got to be on set and they were talking to make it into a TV show and we started our relationship from there," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Amy Poehler has been the star of the popular series, Parks and Recreation since 2009. She will be co-hosting this year’s Golden Globe Awards with Tina Fey. The Golden Globe Awards will air on Sunday, Jan. 12 on NBC.
