The rotten smelling yellow room, the sweat, the stench, the sickness and death. Van brings you in so close that you almost need some air just like him. It gets to feel like she’s almost trying to communicate her disease to him, to make him sick too, and Van is trying to stay alive in the face of it. Among the sweat and the stench is a tough soulful reaction away from it, the organ going and Van backing out slow.
