This 2006 crime thriller had science fiction elements mixed into the plot, which made it even more riveting. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Washington played ATF agent Doug Carlin, who travels back in time in multiple attempts to prevent a domestic terrorist attack that takes place in New Orleans and to save a woman he’s fallen in love with. With spellbinding action scenes, numerous near-misses and a thrilling climax, Washington proved his action acting chops are as polished as his drama ones.
