1. It’s A Wonderful Life (1946)
No Christmas list would be complete without It’s A Wonderful Life. This American classic tells the tale of George Bailey’s life in Bedford Falls, NY. George Bailey is a suicidal, sad man who has given up on his dreams throughout life in order to help people. One night, he decides to take his life so that his family can collect his life insurance money, but his fate is changed when he meets an angel, who shows him what would happen if George had never been born.
It’s A Wonderful Life is number one because it is the whole package of what a Christmas movie should be. It is heartwarming, someone learns a lesson at the end and it isn’t focused on the commercialism.
